Madeline loves it when Culley brings his guitar out before her bedtime. She will pull up two chairs- one for him and one for her and try to 'play' with him. Recently she has begun to make up her own songs- 'sing the flower song, Daddy'. When Culley admits that he doesn't know the flower song, she will say 'yes, you do. Listen. I am a little flower and I grown up high...and I'm red, orange, pink, bluuuuuuueeeeeee. And the sun comes out." The words to her new 'songs' always very a little, but they become more defined the more she sees them. I think she must enjoy his voice more, though. If I start to sing she will tell me, "sshh, Mommy, it isn't your turn yet!" Oh my.
