On the Street Where we Live

Well, once again we were landlocked into our house yesterday. Culley had moved his truck into our driveway last night with the Protege behind it, because we knew the plow would be by sometime in the next 24 hours, and we awoke to a glorious, freshly plowed street...and a neighbor who had decided that instead of parking in their driveway...they would park in front of our house?!?! For those of you who don't know, this means the snow plow must drop off all of it's snow to maneuver around any cars in the street- more specifically, this means the snow was dropped directly in front of our driveway! Due to some restrictions I am on right now, I couldn't shovel, and the snow was too wet and heavy for my mom to shovel, so we were stuck and had to cancel all of our plans for the day. It was a bummer, but it was also somewhat humorous and we made the best of it. Instead, Mom took Madeline "sledding" up and down our sidewalk and then warmed up inside to fresh clementines and REAL hot chocolate. Needless to say, Madeline had a blast and memories were made. Not such a bad day after all...except poor Culley was stuck shoveling again when he came home!
